Cormatin castle
The most sumptuous Louis XIII apartment (1628) preserved in France
Richly painted, carved, and gilded woodwork, fireplaces, and ceilings. 17th-century furniture and tapestries.
A grand stone staircase (1624), a picturesque kitchen, and salons decorated in 1900 for an opera director.
A 12-hectare park with flowerbeds, a large boxwood maze, a traditional vegetable garden, and a green theater.
For Lamartine, Cormatin was “a place of charm, art, and delight.”
The Michelin Green Guide – Burgundy promises you “a truly royal visit”…
