Couches castle

Impressive medieval castle on its rocky spur amidst the vineyards.

Built at the request of the Duke of Châlon in the XIIth century, enlarged in the XVth century at the instigation of Claude de Montagu, Knight of the Toison d’Or and Chamberlain of the Dukes of Burgundy.

Visit its Collegiate Church, its Tower of Justice, its Main Tower and its exceptional underground passages, walk around its park and ramparts before arriving at its topiary gardens.

“La Toison d’Or” animations and seasonal workshops for children, classical and jazz concerts, “Les Médiévales” historical spectacles. Tastings of Chardonnay, Aligoté and Pinot Noir wines.
