Pierre de Bresse castle
Built in the 17th century by the powerful Thiard family, the classical architecture of the Château de Pierre-de-Bresse was inspired by the Château de Versailles.
Located in the northern part of Bresse Bourguignonne, the château now houses the Bresse Ecomuseum. This museum reveals the rich and flavorful culture of Bresse—a bocage plain with unique traditional skills, dotted with countless ponds and rivers.
At the end of your visit, enjoy a hot drink in the château’s tearoom or take a stroll through the surrounding 30-hectare park. Don’t forget to browse our shop and bookstore.
