Twenty years ago, the owners of 14 castles in South Burgundy set up the Castles Route to raise awareness of their heritage, full of history, and to share their passion for these extraordinary places, which they strive to keep alive and open to the public.
In the heart of magnificent landscapes and gardens, fourteen medieval fortresses and castles from the Renaissance, Baroque and Classical eras, all classified as Historic Monuments, offer you a rich anthology of French art and a journey into Burgundy’s historical past, a land of exchange and culture.
